Cancellation of Leather Pride 2020

April 24, 2020

I hope that you are coping well and staying safe as we move forward during these trying times of COVID-19.  Many of us are experiencing physical, emotional and economic challenges that were simply unimaginable just weeks ago.

This new world pandemic has struck, bringing with it the need for new behaviors and cautions, and perhaps most importantly our need to maintain social distancing and increased social hygiene. There still, however, remain many unknowns regarding how long this phase of the pandemic will last, and what our world will look like on the other side, especially for the remainder of this year.

With this reality in mind, the general membership of the Palm Springs Leather Order of the Desert met on April 22nd via webcam, to reflect on planning and execution of Leather Pride this fall.

After a thorough discussion with participating members, it was decided that it would be in the best interest of all participants and their related communities, to cancel the Palm Springs Leather Pride event for 2020

We are very aware of the impact this will have on our community, sponsors and charities but, never fear; the much-anticipated tradition of Palm Springs leather pride may be postponed, but not going away. We will be back, bigger and better with the resurrection of Palm Springs Leather Pride in 2021.

Thank you and stay safe.

President, Palm Springs Leather Order of the Desert
